We have got the perfect solution for you to take down all these unfortunate complications-LASER THERAPY! So you may be thinking – “Is laser treatment really effective?Endovenous laser treatment(EVLT) can treat larger varicose veins in the legs. A laser fibre is passed through a catheter into the vein. Concurrently, the doctor observes the vein on a Duplex Ultrasound Screen. Laser is definitely less painful than vein ligation and stripping. Biggest upside is that Laser treatment has a shorter recovery period, relatively speaking.
FILAC or Fistula-Tract Laser Closure is done using Laser. The primary purpose of the procedure is to gently remove the fistula tract without bringing about damage to the sphincter muscle. The procedure is done under short General Anesthesia and essentially needs about 30-40 minutes. A radially emitting Laser Fibre is inserted from the outside. A pre-specified amount of laser energy is then emitted circumferentially into the fistula tract. The laser energy causes controlled photothermal destruction of the fistula tract leading to its collapse to a high degree. This also facilitates and accelerates the healing process.
The treatment for PNS is LPP (Laser Pilonidoplasty), which is a minimally invasive procedure also done using laser. A small incision is made on the skin and all the pus is carefully drained out. The entirety of the sinus tract is then sealed using the laser fiber. The patient is discharged within 24hrs and can return to his daily schedule by the 5th day. The healing is much faster than the other conventional treatment methods. The recurrence rate is quite negligible.
